In this spotlight, the department caught up with Kelly Fan, a General Anthropology and Biology (Immunobiology Track) concentrator, to learn more about her experience in Anthropology's Research Apprenticeship Program. The program aims to foster collaboration between students and faculty on faculty research.
How do students use funding to support research?
- Semester stipends to support faculty research as part of the Apprenticeship Program
- Expenses related to travel (transportation, lodging, and food) during research trips
- Costs associated with presenting at an academic conference
- Access to archives, analysis software, transcription software, or databases that Brown does not already have access to
- Costs associated with fieldwork (for example, recorders or other field materials, compensation for study participants, costs of transcription and/or translation)
