Please read through the following information before submitting your application for the Watson-Smith Prize.
Eligibility:
This call is open to graduate students and undergraduate concentrators in anthropology. Each student may submit only one paper. Previous winners will not be eligible.
Restrictions:
Papers must be original, unpublished, and written (or significantly revised) during the 2023-24 academic year. Entries must be typed, double-spaced, and cannot exceed 8,000 words (inclusive of notes/references). Shorter papers are encouraged.
Criteria:
Papers will be judged by the following criteria:
·Originality of conception
·Definition of problem
·Use of evidence
·Awareness of assumptions
·Clarity of expression
The judges' committee will consist of two anthropology faculty members.
