Mark, a PhD Candidate in Anthropology, began fieldwork this summer at the ancestral archaeological village of Perage on San Ildefonso Pueblo lands. Perage is one of the earliest villages in the Rio Grande Valley of New Mexico that is historically linked to modern San Ildefonso Pueblo.
Mark's fieldwork at Perage is the first project to be carried out with the Pueblo in over a century.
